Editor´s notice

Summary form only given, as follows. One of the salient objectives of the IEEE JOURNAL OF SOLID-STATE CIRCUITS is to serve as the medium for publication of full-length versions of the papers presented at the annual IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference. This Special Issue includes several 1970 ISSCC papers as well as additional complementary papers on semiconductor memories and optoelectronics selected by our Guest Editors, Dave Hodges and Steve Brugler. In behalf of the readers of this JOURNAL, I would like to thank them for a most successful effort.
