Predicting Single Event Upsets in the Earth´s Proton Belts

Single event upsets, due to protons trapped in the earth´s radiation belt, pose a serious problem for spacecraft in low earth orbit. This paper surveys the upset rates to be expected and presents contour maps of upset rates as a function of inclination and altitude.
