Abstract
Although the basic operation of modern IC opamps is well understood, no detailed evaluation has been published concerning the characteristics of the transistors and the performance limitations resulting from the devices and the individual stages of the amplifier. In this paper, the results are given of an investigation of a typical example of the 741-type IC amplifier. Complete data are given on the transistor characteristics and parameters. Computer simulation is used to study the performance and limitations of the stages and the overall amplifier.
