Abstract :
The symmetrical semi-implicit method is applied to eddy current problems both in uniform materials and in multimaterials consisting of magnetic materials, conductors, and air. It is shown that the method can be more economical in computational time than the modified incomplete Cholesky conjugate gradient (MICCG) method with the same quality for the solution of symmetrical equations, and that the method requires the same computational time as the modified incomplete LU biconjugate gradient (MILUBCG) method for the solution of asymmetrical equations.
