Abstract
The computer simulation of the low-frequency 1/f noise performance of electronic circuits is described. The specification of the 1/f noise performance of bipolar transistors over a wide range of bias conditions by two parameters is shown to be adequate for the prediction of circuit performance. Computer simulation of the 1/f noise performance of the 741 operational amplifier is discussed and shown to agree well with measurements. The dominant contributors to the equivalent input noise voltage at low frequencies are shown to be different transistors from those that are dominant at higher frequencies.
