Image theory of a quasistatic magnetic dipole over a dissipative half-space

An analytical demonstration of image theory is given for the case where a vertical magnetic dipole is located over a dissipative half-space. It is shown that the image concept is valid, provided that distances are large with a skin depth in the ground yet small compared with the wavelength.
