Abstract :
A simple and yet effective approach is presented for array beamforming in the presence of steering error. This approach consists of two stages. The first stage is the Capon beamformer. The second stage maximises the residual power in the vicinity of the look direction using an iterative first order Taylor series approximation of the steering vector for estimating the steering error.
