Abstract :
What is the highest accolade for which a university teacher can aspire? There are few national level awards, such as the Australian University Teacher of the Year run by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council, and many local university-based schemes that try to address the inadequate recognition of excellence in university teaching. For most teachers, educators, and mentors it is not their particular ambition to achieve honors, prices, and compliments. Their efforts that go hand in hand with their passions are directed toward educating and training new generations of professionals.
