Abstract :
The authors address hardware implementation issues for a finite-impulse-response (FIR) adaptive filter capable of whitening correlated noise in the 0-150-MHz frequency range. A hybrid analog/digital configuration is proposed to allow operation at these frequencies. The use of analog circuitry causes filter performance degradation, the severity of which is estimated by means of computer simulations. From the simulation results, the performance specifications for the subcircuits are obtained. Recommendations for implementation of the required subcircuits are included
