Abstract :
A simple method for the absolute frequency stabilisation of Nd:YAG lasers is presented. The laser frequency has been locked to a fixed point on the flank of a Doppler-broadened iodine absorption line. In this way an absolute and reproducible accuracy of the laser frequency approaching 10-7 has been achieved.
