Production lines are not the only areas to be affected by the current `hi-tech¿¿ revolution. Companies that are investing large amounts of capital in advanced manufacturing technologies must also take a long and serious look at the way they do their books. CAM-1, an international research and development organisation, is working at the moment on a major project to identify the deficiencies in today´s cost management system and to develop a prototype for the future.
