Abstract :
Metrology at Lockheed assists various programs with the selection of measurement instruments. This includes evaluation of instruments to specifications, maintainability, etc. Also, after equipment has been purchased, if it is calibratable and a capital expenditure, the laboratory must test the instrument as part of the receiving inspection to verify that it meets manufacturer´s specifications. The laboratory is responsible for periodic calibration and repair of the instrument throughout its life cycle. The VXI test bed system and its intended usage are discussed. Problems, concerns, and recommendations are examined
