Abstract :
Problems with forecast uncertainty in distribution load forecasting are explored. It is shown that often differences in where load will develop are serious and affect planning. This problem calls for explicit identification of alternative patterns of load growth and planning for each. The authors describe how this can be efficiently accomplished with modern computerized methods. A high speed computerized method is described which improves results, automatically generating only those alternatives that need to be studied.
