Abstract :
Breakdown effects in thin polymer foils irradiated with partially penetrating monoenergetic electron beams are discussed. A portion of the foils carried protective coatings of p-SiO2 and p-Si3 N4. It was found that these coatings suppress or at least strongly reduce breakdown pulses occurring during irradiation, but do not prevent delayed pulses occurring after termination of the irradiation
