Abstract
An instrument for measurement of high energy electrons (1-10 MeV) in the Earth´s radiation belts has been designed, calibrated and flown on-board the CRRES spacecraft. The instrument uses a triple coincidence arrangement with two solid state detectors and a BGO scintillator crystal to identify electrons and discriminate against energetic protons. A thorough description of the construction and calibration is presented along with an example of on-orbit data
