Abstract :
This paper presents the experiences of the College of Engineering at Iowa State University in the extensive use of videotape courses for continuing education of engineers at electric utility companies. Most of the courses are graduate level courses and are videotaped as they are presented to an on-campus class. The courses may be taken either on a credit or non-credit basis. If the student chooses, he or she may apply for regular admission to the Graduate College. If accepted, the student can work toward a Masters degree. All of the requirements for the degree can be met while the student remains a full-time employee.
