The 2006 IEEE Communications Society and Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award was jointly awarded to Tsachy Weissman, Erik Ordentlich, Gadiel Seroussi, Sergio Verdu, and Marcelo J. Weinberger for their paper "Universal Discrete Denoising: Known Channel," which appeared in the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, vol. 51, no. 1 pp. 5-28, January 2005.
