Abstract :
This note explores the minimal multirealization problem, which is the determination of a minimal degree, parameter-dependent, state variable description to express a finite set of linear multivariable systems. The form of the parameter-dependent state variable description is selected as a feedback form to implement "state sharing" and "bumpless transfer," which are possible ways to improve poor transient responses for switching control. The problem is solved by finding a special kind of minimal multiplier for a finite set of polynomial matrices.
