Abstract :
The membership and working groups of the Japanese Society of Medical Electronics and Biomedical Engineering (USMEBE) are described. The output of medical engineering equipment since the JSMEBE was founded in 1962 and legislation regarding clinical engineering technicians are discussed. Important future issues for biomedical engineering are outlined.<>
