Abstract
The 32-bit minicomputer, also called the supermini, is ideally suited to the real-time data acquisition needs of a nuclear power plant. The use of superminis in a data system provides better information to improve decision-making. An example is the use of computers in the Emergency Response Facilities (ERF) required by the NUREG-0696 at nuclear power plants.
