Abstract :
The multidimensional configuration of a full encoder/ decoder in an arrayed-waveguide-grating configuration has been carefully analyzed, evaluating the code-recognition probability as a function of the signal-to-noise ratio. We demonstrate that a single device with 64 ports can generate and recognize 232 different codes, with an error probability lower than 10-12.
