Abstract :
It is known that the dual six-port network analyser is able to derive the unknown scattering coefficients of a two-port device from the readings taken by eight power sensors. The paper outlines the development of a novel nine-port network analyser that requires only six power sensors for the same measurement function. Test results confirm that the prototype instrument is capable of yielding reasonably good measurement accuracies
