Abstract :
Audio appeared on the Japanese export list in the 1960s and video in the 1970s; in the 1980s it was ICs, and in the 90s it is information technology, consisting of computers and communications. Each product is used as a building block for the next one. Europe is now trying to achieve a certain equilibrium in its trade with Japan and also a technological equilibrium is sought. The problems that will face Europe after 1992 are also discussed
