Abstract :
In 1989, British Rail placed an order for 100 four-car electric multiple-unit trains for use on the Network SouthEast Southern Region lines. The trains use an electric-traction drive system with squirrel-cage induction motors and 3-phase invertors, incorporating high-power GTO thyristors and microprocessor control
