Abstract :
A method is described which can be used to calculate the harmonics in convertor systems both with fmite a.c. and d.c. impedances. The method is used to investigate a type of instability in h.v.d.c. schemes which can only be shown if fmite a.c. and d.c. side impedances are used in calculations.
