Abstract :
The performance of the Ferranti F100-L microprocessor and support chips was evaluated in neutron, high dose rate electron and total dose gamma irradiation, in which the safe operating levels were 2 × 1013 n/cm2, 2.2 × 107 rad/s (for data upset), and 1 - 10 Mrad (depending on dose rate) respectively. No latchup was obtained with 50ns infra-red laser pulses equivalent to 1013 rad/s.
