Abstract :
The shock-wave behaviour of a nonlinear `square-root¿ delay line, assumed lossless, is investigated. Analytical expressions are obtained for shock-wave formation and propagation velocity. It is shown that in this line shock waves, in addition to continuous waves, do not suffer reflections. A number of experimental results are given.
