Abstract :
By an accurate cavity-resonance method, susceptances of thin conducting obstacles, placed across circular waveguides, were measured at several frequencies for TE11 and TM01 modes. Two types of capacitive obstacles were investigated: circular-aperture diaphragm and concentric disc. The results corroborate a well known fact: energy is concentrated near the waveguide axis for the TE11 mode and near the guide wall for the TM01 mode.
