Abstract :
A theoretical model is developed to calculate contrast-detail diagrams(CDD) that can be used to express the image quality of an X-ray computerized tomography (CT) system. Using the model, CDDs are calculated for third and fourth generation scanners. The quantitative relations between the CT system characteristics and the consequent image quality are presented by means of calculated results.
