Abstract
Alternators with multiple coils per phase, in which each coil consists of 2jN turns (j =0, 1, 2, . . . m , m =number of coils per phase and N =base number of turns), are discussed. This configuration provides a means of regulating the output voltage of the alternator. These binary-wound alternators reduce the harmonic content of the rectifier output. Two controller strategies are suggested. Experimental curves are presented
