Abstract :
A new prefilter structure is presented. The frequency response of the prefilter structure is derived from the combination of two cosine functions. By cascading these prefilters with an appropriate equaliser, low complexity filters with high stop-band attenuation can be achieved. The proposed prefilter leads to a significant saving in the number of arithmetic operations in the prefilter-equaliser cascade structure.
