Abstract :
Advances in semiconductor technology make it practical to integrate complex digital computers onto a few chips suitable for use in a variety of consumer oriented applications such as video games. 1 The introduction of these first "micro-computers" allowed production of a number of interesting arcade video games. 2 Now as microcomputers get smaller and cheaper they bring programmable TV games into our homes. 3 Some of the design principles and techniques used in microcomputer based video games are described here.
