Abstract :
Various TLM modellings of active devices embedded in antennas are presented. Two aspects are considered. The first aspect concerns a new 3-D modelling specifically developed for large device volumes compared to the cell size in a varactor-based tunable antenna. In the second aspect, simplified electrical models of PIN diodes are used to simulate switchable antennas. Results of measured data and TLM simulations for both reconfigurable antennas are compared and good agreement is reported.
