Abstract :
A design using highly efficient switchmode power amplifiers enables the engineer to offer extended battery life to portable equipment, reduce heat sinking requirements, and offer considerable energy savings. There are over a million audio amplifiers in the city of Chicago alone. If we could save a mere one watt per amplifier we will have saved over a million valuable watts!
