Abstract :
A 160 GHz optical clock signal was successfully recovered from a 160 Gbit/s data stream using a modelocked laser diode. The timing jitter of the recovered clock was suppressed to less than 0.2 ps over a wide input wavelength range in the C-band. Furthermore, a wide locking range of over 700 MHz was achieved owing to the integrated chirped distributed Bragg reflector.
