Abstract :
The paper describes the 678 MW steam-turbine generators, of which four are to be installed at Castle Peak B Power Station. Both turbines and generators embody standard features of the manufacturer´s designs, and all of the major components are either closely similar or identical to those of many other units. Although this design standardisation of the main unit is maintained, there are some peripheral areas of plant design where alternative solutions have been examined; and several such instances are described. The paper concludes with a description of the plant layout in the turbine hall.
