Abstract
A new window, w (t )=0.62-0.48|t |+0.38 cos 2πt , |t |⩽1/2, is introduced. It is shown that the window is of a group with similar but different tradeoff properties with the Bartlett, the Hanning, and the Hamming windows. The proposed window is more effective than the Bartlett and the Hanning in the near sidelobes, and more effective than the Bartlett and the Hamming in the far sidelobes
