Abstract :
An analytical method is described which determines the distributed capacitance of a thin-film electrooptic light modulator with parallel-strip electrodes. The capacitance is expressed in a variational form. The anisotropy of the crystal and the presence of surrounding air are considered. Numerical examples for the case of Li-Nb-O3 are given.
