Abstract :
The atmosphere from select locations in an operating CANDU Nuclear Power Station is monitored for tritiated water vapour. Tritium surveillance minimizes accidental radiological exposure and allows detection of heavy water leaks from process systems. The tritium in air monitor, design by AECL, is described. Field tests, conducted by Ontario Hydro, are documented.
