Abstract :
Results from experimental measurements and theoretical calculations are compared for coupling between surface-wave lines with unequal relative phase velocities. The agreement is good for small differences in relative phase velocities but is less satisfactory as the differences become larger. It is seen that coupling between Goubau lines with unequal relative phase velocities is practical where complete power transfer is not required. The allowable differences in the relative phase velocities depend on the length of the coupled section and, of course, on the application intended.
