Abstract :
A method is presented which solves the problem of discontinuous magnetic field components at common boundaries of adjacent finite elements. This new approach combines the advantages of using complex variable potential functions for triangular finite elements. As calculated flux quantities deviate from those obtained by a pure scalar potential or vector potential approach, continuous magnetic field components are guaranteed by a new post-processing technique. The method´s merits are illustrated by a simple numerical example
