Abstract :
The step response of a p--n junction capacitor has been analysed and is found to be significantly bias dependent. Specific solutions are obtained for abrupt and linearly graded junctions, and experimental evidence is presented which is in good agreement with the derived equations. The essential transient parameters for step and graded junctions and their dependence on bias have been given in a tabular form.
