Abstract :
A 3He scintillation detector of unique design has been fabricated and tested. It incorporates high-pressure helium gas contained within small spherical glass shells dispersed in a plastic scintillator matrix. The detector displays a unique combination of properties including high detection efficiency, fast response, and convenient physical form.
