Abstract :
An exact solution of the relativistic equation of motion of a charged particle driven by an elliptically polarized electromagnetic wave is obtained. The method used for this purpose is simple, and the results of earlier authors for the linearly and circularly polarized waves can be recovered as special cases of the solution
