Abstract :
Electro-magnetic modeling of electrofiltration phenomena requires coupled modeling of fluid flow, electric (streaming) potential and magnetic field. We present a finite element method for solving 3-dimensional problems in anisotropic porous media based on the code Flux-Expert. Numerical results are given for the case of water flowing at a constant rate through a window in the wall of a borehole drilled into sandstone. Two cases of anisotropy are examined: a horizontal plane and a 45 degree inclined plane
