Abstract :
The mode-matching technique for a flanged aperture is considered. By using the known form of the edge singularities, the mode-coupling equations are cast into a form which partially compensates for the truncation effect. The formulation is shown to recover the local-field properties and the boundary conditions in the immediate vicinity of the edges.
