Abstract :
A simple technique for permittivity measurements of liquids is described. A low-loss dielectric tube filled with liquid is placed across the midplane of the TE011-mode cavity. The field inside the liquid is related to the field outside the liquid in the same manner as static fields. Theoretical analysis to calculate the complex permittivity of liquid is given. The shift in resonant frequency and change in Q-factor are measured and the complex permittivity is calculated.
