Abstract
Signal levels around and within four suburban houses were measured at 800 MHz. The measurements were made from an instrumentation van having erectable 27-ft and 12.5-ft-high antennas. The dependence of attenuation on the height of antennas is needed in designing portable radio communication systems that can accommodate low-power radio communication sets. The height dependence of the trends in the data are consistent with the simple model of reflection from the ground.
