Abstract :
This paper describes the use of an evolutionary algorithm for the generation of a graded finite difference grid, which makes a good as possible approximation of the input geometric objects. The algorithm is specialized to 2-dimensional polygonal structures, because the aim was to get a simulation model for Printed Circuit Board structures. The algorithm itself and the quality function applied are explained and an example of a PCB structure, which was discretized by the coded version of the algorithm, is shown
