Abstract :
A micro-computer based apparatus has been developped for the measurement of television picture quality. The basic principle is the simulation of the human eye by optical, electronic and software means. Here the system developped is used to measure the effect of various types of noise on the luminance and on the color components of the television signal. It has also been used to measure the color variation and saturation as function of the light intensity of the screen by introducing the proper optical filters between the photodetector of the system and the screen.
